about

I started out in help desk & teaching Microsoft Office to the technology-challenged in 1997. From there, I learned what "FTP" and "HTML" meant, made a little intranet, some online company newsletters, uploaded a few weekly files and eventually found myself with the title of Web Technologies Instructor & a few Macromedia (now Adobe) certifications (Instructor, Dreamweaver Developer, and Flash Designer).

I've worked with Brookwood as either a full-time employee or freelance since 2000. Through them, I've worked on several large corporate websites, as well as done on-site and long-distance training for clients such as: Mercedes, Crocs, Apple, the US Army, the US Marine Corps, Raytheon, Neiman Marcus, National Fire Academy, the FDA, etc.

Classes I've taught include: Adobe Presenter, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Connect, HTML beginning & advanced, CSS, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Fireworks, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Flash and Section 508 Compliance.

On a more personal note, I no longer work in web development & training full-time, as I've been pursuing other (job) interests. While I've taken the girl out of the geek-ery, I can't take the geek-ery out of the girl. I enjoy being a web geek, so I'm still Certified with Adobe and I still occasionally teach ConnectPro & Presenter (from my home in Seattle). Mostly, however, I do some web development on the side by creating sites & blogs for individuals and small (very small) companies.
